Dipping a little toe back in the pond

So now that the bulk of the real work has been done (the shoot, editing and post production) the fun bit begins. I’m about halfway through printing the new book (3 in total) and its nice to see how the images are coming together. Some I’ve seen already way too much, and others I’m seeing on the printed page for the first time… All in all its very exciting and I’ll have some images of the work in progress shortly.

As a result, however, I’ve hardly made any new images in the last few weeks! Which is way too long. As i start to get my feet wet again, so to speak, I’ve got a new one to share. Its sort of makes me think of those cliché images that people take of their feet when they’re first getting into making pictures. Anyway, its good to feel a tiny bit of inspiration to make an image again, even if its only directed at a little light creeping out between a cracked doorway.

Speaking of images of the feet. Take a read of Muriel Barbery’s new book “The Elegance of the Hedgehog” and her reference to Yasujiro Ozu films, in particular his in close images of the feet of Japanese women.

You’ll love the book regardless. I did, almost as well as “Oscar Wao” which I read in two sittings!

    Thanks
