I’ve been out of the blogging game for quite a while but that doesn’t mean I have been productive. I have a lot to share in the coming days, so to start it off, I’ve got a few images from last month’s Hard Rock 100 ultra marathon.

A couple of images from a winter share pickup day at the local farmer’s market.

I thought it would be nice to follow up something dead with something living…

Another image from the Priest Lake area. This was spotted by my dad from the car, and I went back later to make this picture. I’d never seen anything quite like it. The tracks leading to and away make this exciting. Circle of life, huh…

While I was out in Colorado last, I ended up spending a lot of time out at Priest Lake, which is a particularly nice place to cross country ski if you are into that sort of thing. After a particularly grueling day on skiis, I spent some time wandering through the snow and made the following image.

I was no doubt feeling inspired after a recent visit to Moma’s Abstract Expressionist exhibition (open through April 25th) where I encountered for the first time in person the diminutive prints of Harry Callahan from that era, which in my mind were as impactful as the giant paintings by Pollock, Rothko and the rest.
I don’t pretend to believe that this image or the similar images I made at Fairchild Park deserve such company, but mention it simply to say that if you have the chance to see the exhibit I highly recommend taking a moment away from the iconic paintings to appreciate the subtlety of the photography.

A few snap shots on location this week at Fairchild Park in Miami.
